music videos for inspiration

To give some background information on Joji, he similarly had a change in style to XXXTentacion, however it was for none of the same reasons. Joji started off as a youtuber that made offensive content under the alias Filthy Frank. However he stopped uploading videos and produced his own songs as Joji. However, he had some past experience on this as he previously uploaded songs based on his characters on his youtube channel. He uploaded his first song with the name Joji called 'worldstar money'. The song and visuals were almost as far away as you could get from his previous persona, nevertheless his fans continued to support him and and his new path.

In his instrumentals he uses heavy beats and atmospheric samples to create an nostalgic and different feel to any other artist at the moment. His music videos also standout in the sea of music videos with the abstract performance Joji brings. Also the VHS and vintage video style is common in his videos giving him a unique aesthetic. I think that if I were to make a music video for a Joji song I would follow the same style that he has now.

If I were to make a video for Joji's slow dancing in the dark, I would film in VHS or edit a VHS effect on top of the footage. I will do a mix of abstract and performance. I think that filming underwater would carry on the Joji aesthetic, lining my persona of Joji up with Joji's real persona.
