The Premise

The premise of my game is a female ninja called Ariko, in a dystopian Japan where she is a member of an elite force of ninjas that have been tasked with fighting off evil spirits. The ninjas are a group of genius engineers that have found way create a hachimaki (a Japanese traditional bandanna worn on special occasions) that increases their brain capacity so they can speed up their brain, which slows down the world around them. These bandannas are extremely hard to create. They require a huge and extremely intense power source, but also the creators soul. Once you attach them to your head they can only be removed through the wearer of the hachimaki to be killed. The evil spirits are attempting to take over Japan through getting hold of the few powerful hachimaki's the engineers have created. It is Ariko and her fellow work colleges job to destroy the evil spirits and stop them from taking over Japan

Why pixel art?

After trying different tools and techniques in the previous task, I found that I really enjoyed creating pixel art. I like it because I think that it looks really original when you can create something quite lifelike with a 100x100 pixel canvas. It allowed me to create a more abstract art style as I found using drawing difficult. I also have quite a bit more experience with video games that are pixelated, if that is something more of an 8-bit style like Mario Bros or more of my style of pixel art like Super Time Force or The Hunger Games: Girl on fire.
